program gives students the skills and knowledge to enter this exciting and fulfilling field.
The Teaching English as a Second Language program trains students in the
most effective teaching techniques, including interactive activities
and games. This program includes a practicum placement that will
prepare them to enter the job market. Students also learn about job
search techniques specific to this industry.
This program is recognized by TESL Canada and graduates are eligible for TESL Canada Professional Certificate Standard Two.
- High school graduation or equivalent, or mature
- Pass college’s admissions test.
- English 12: 70% or equivalent (see English
Language Proficiency Scores at www.tesl.ca).
NOTE: If you elect to be certified by TESL Canada, to
be eligible for a TESL Canada Professional Certificate,
you must provide evidence of completion of an
undergraduate degree at an accredited postsecondary
institution. (Applicants with a degree from
outside of Canada must provide Canadian equivalency
from a credential evaluation service.)
