The Health Care Assistant program is completed in 24 weeks, with a total of 770 instructional and practice hours.

Yes. The program includes extensive supervised practice education in both clinical and community settings.
Graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry, which is required for employment in public health care settings in BC.
You’ll complete both supervised lab training and real-world practice education. This includes 120 hours of Personal Care and Assistance training, followed by supervised clinical practice experiences in multi-level or complex care settings and community-based environments such as home support or assisted living. These experiences are designed to help you apply classroom learning in real care situations before you graduate.
