Canadian CFOs Positive About New Accounting and Financial Employees

Thursday, April 12, 2012

During the second quarter of this fiscal year, 20 per cent of Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) plan to add full-time accounting and finance employees, according to a Robert Half press release. With nearly 78 per cent of CFOs reporting confidence in their companies' second quarter business prospects, the outlook for employment growth within the accounting industry is a bright one.

The statistics came out of the Robert Half Financial Hiring Index, which is part of the company's quarterly Professional Employment Report. Research experts collected data from about 270 CFOs across Canada.

Overall, accounting professionals may find positions within the transportation sector. According to the survey, 28 percent of CFOs in the industry expect to add staff in the second quarter. This is closely followed by the retail industry at 19 percent.

Those who wish to pursue careers in accounting and payroll administration can look for positions in several sectors.
