In recent weeks, Vancouver Career College experienced a cybersecurity incident where unauthorized third parties gained access to our IT systems, and to some of the personal information that was stored on our servers. Upon discovering the situation, we immediately took steps to contain any threat, reported the incident to law enforcement, and retained cyber forensic experts to conduct a comprehensive investigation. At this time, our investigation is ongoing and is expected to take several weeks. These incidents have not interfered with our ability to deliver our education services, except for a few minor disturbances.
Any individual impacted by this situation will be contacted separately on next steps. At this time, we are not aware of any misuse of personal information. However, we do encourage everyone to remain vigilant about unsolicited requests for financial or other personal information, and any unauthorized transactions.

Upon discovering the incident, Vancouver Career College immediately took steps to contain any threat (including taking certain systems offline as a precautionary measure), reported the incident to law enforcement, retained cyber experts to conduct a comprehensive investigation, and notified our regulators.
We are not aware of any misuse of personal information at this stage. Any person affected is being notified and offered free credit protection services.
