July 2018 Kelowna Newsletter

Welcome the month of July. The summer is here, the heat is upon us and we all want to be at the beach. At Vancouver Career College Kelowna Campus, we manage to survive with air conditioning, friends, committed instructors, and ice cream sundaes. Of course, we are also only one block from the beach so we can always get our beach time in during our breaks or when our assignments are beach related.

Grindstone Charity Tournament

We are thrilled to announce that our RMT students will be taking some time out of their busy weekend to support this event. Our RMT students will be giving massages to the teams playing hockey on July 20-22 from 4-5 pm at the Capital News Arena.

Bake Sale Fundraiser

Our campus was excited to host a bake sale to raise funds for the Katselem Youth Society. Our staff and instructors donated the delicious baked goods and we were able to raise $91.00 to support a good cause. Our students and some of RMT clinic clients were also very happy to be able to enjoy a sweet treat in the middle of their day.

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training

Our Social Service Worker students enjoyed their training with Barbara Laws, the NVCI Instructor, and learned a great deal about how to handle crisis situations in their future careers. Thank you, Barb for traveling to Kelowna to give us some valuable training.
