100% Government-Funded Programs

Vancouver Career College is collaborating with the Government of British Columbia to provide 100% government-funded education to residents of BC who may be experience unemployment or underemployment and who do not have the financial means to attend a skills training program. The funding for these programs is provided by the Government of Caanda through the Canada-British Columbia Workforce Development Agreement. All the programs are designed to provide the critical career development training to support sustainable entry into the provincial workforce.

 

Current Eligible Programs Accepting Applications - 

Information System Support Specialist

Program Start Date: February 21st, 2023

 

Program Overview:

The Information Systems Support Specialist program focuses on preparing students to design, implement, manage and maintain computers and network installations. Employment opportunities are in organizations of all sizes-from small firms with a single local area network to global corporations with large wide area networks and wireless capabilities spanning multiple geographical locations. Program highlights include: Hardware Installation and configuration, basic networking, Windows client operating system configuration and device configuration

This program has been approved by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training and is 29 weeks in length.

 

Eligibility:

  • BC Residents, Permanent Resident, or Refugee Claimant
  • Unemployed or Underemployed
  • Currently on EI
  • Must meet program requirements
    • High School Graduation or Equivalent (from an English language institution OR
    • Mature student status (19 years of age upon starting classes, and pass college’s English admissions test)
    • Complete ‘Student Declaration – Social Services Worker Programs’ form (provided by college)
  • Meet Work Experience Placement Requirements
    • Criminal Records Check (in accordance with the Criminal Records Review Act)
    • Up-to-date immunization report (form provided by college)
