More than 90% of Coquitlam, Surrey and Kelowna grads found employment within six months of graduation

Coquitlam, BC – September 4, 2013 – The results are in and Vancouver Career College has a lot to be proud of. A recent graduate employment report reveals that more than 90% of grads from the Coquitlam, Surrey and Kelowna campuses found employment in 2012. Even more impressive, the Coquitlam campus boasts a 98% employment rate for the year, followed closely by the Surrey campus with 96.5% and the Kelowna campus with 94.6%.

For Vancouver Career College officials, the employment rates are something to be celebrated.

“We are very pleased that our graduates have successfully used their training to land jobs in their field of choice,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing for Vancouver Career College. “As a college, we measure our success based on the success of our grads. And, the latest grad employment results show us that there is a demand for the type of training Vancouver Career College provides.”

Vancouver Career College provides practical, career-driven training programs in the fields of business, healthcare, legal, education, trades, technology and art and design. All programs are taught by industry-experienced instructors. Programs combine classroom learning with hands-on training through scenarios, lab work and simulation exercises. Students can apply the knowledge learned in the class and hone the skill sets they need to work in the field.

Most programs include practicum placements, allowing students to gain relevant experience in the field before graduation. Over the years, numerous students have been hired by their practicum hosts as a result of their placement, in many cases prior to completing their program.

Students and alumni also have access to the Career Services department. Here they can learn about job openings in their career field, get assistance with the job hunt, find help with resume writing and practice their interview skills. Career Services also offers the Optimal Resume service, an online tool that allows students and alumni to create cover letters, resumes and personal websites.
