What is the Summer Solstice?

The summer solstice is when the sun reaches its highest position in the sky and the Earth's tilt towards the sun is at its maximum.

In the Northern Hemisphere the day of the summer solstice is the longest day of the year (the day with the most daylight and the shortest night).

Ancient cultures knew that the length of daylight, along with the sun’s path across the sky and the location of the sunrise and sunset all shifted in a regular way throughout the year. They built huge stone monuments, such as Stonehenge, to follow the sun’s yearly progress.

Sunday June 21st is Father's Day. How do you plan on celebrating the father figure in your life?

National Indigenous People's Day

June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. This is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

Zodiac Sign

Feeling Compatable? This month is the Zodiac of Cancer's and Gemini's. If you were born between June 1st and June 20th, you are a Gemini.
