This year, we celebrate the individuals who took out the time to volunteer and help make a difference in our local communities. We would also like to remind you all of the importance of volunteering, which this year is needed by the communities more than ever as organizations start to move their events in-person again. Check out our latest blog to see the list of organizations you can volunteer at, starting today.

This month, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom around us. We are in love with the streets filled with cherry trees all over the Lower Mainland. Share some of your go-to spots to catch the scenic views of the cherry trees this season.

Welcome our new Employment Specialist Shelley B! Shelley started with VACC at the Chilliwack location in 2019 as an EA Instructor and later transferred to Abbotsford to teach. Prior to her years with us she worked within SD#34 as an EA. In her free time, you can find her hanging with her family & Chocolate Lab pup named Ahsoka. She also has many talents that stretch as far as playing various musical instruments and she is a HUGE Lacrosse lover!

The City of Abbotsford is inviting the community to volunteer to pick up litter during the month of April. The city will provide free clean up supplies – bags, pickers and gloves – to volunteers. Sign up to be a volunteer here.

It is always exciting to get a fresh set of faces on Campus! Cohort 22 of our Practical Nurses started recently and they have been a joy to have onsite. I was lucky enough to capture their shining faces for their Student IDs cards so I thought it would be a great opportunity to give them a warm welcome in the newsletter!
